Captain Chris Kimrey - Thursday, October 12, 2017

If you live anywhere in eastern North Carolina, you know that although we're into our second week in October, the weather sure doesn't feel like it. The warm temperatures and high humidity have it feeling more like August, but we can't complain. October's fishing has started out good and we're looking forward to some cooler temperatures later in the month and into November.  Read More

Drum Fishing In The Neuse

Captain Chris Kimrey - Monday, September 25, 2017

It's officially fall! We're excited for fall fishing and all of the fun catches that are to come this season. This past week has been full of fun trips to the Neuse River catching drum. From slots to old drum, we've been catching them all! Typically, the large, old drum bite is on when the sun goes down. Luckily, this year we've been able to find the old drum in the afternoon and into dusk. Not only is old drum fishing a ton of fun - if you've ever reeled in one of the big ones, you know! - but you also get to take in a beautiful sunset from one of the best spots in eastern North Carolina. There's nothing like watching the sun go down over the water on the Neuse River!  Read More

Inshore & Nearshore Fishing On The Crystal Coast

Captain Chris Kimrey - Friday, August 18, 2017

Here are Mount Maker Charters, we've had some great charters in the past week or so full of lots of different species of fish. Last week, we have a variety of clients that were in search of many different types of fishing. And, luckily we were able to deliver.

For some of our trips, we started out nearshore fishing for Mackerel and then ventured inshore to do some flounder fishing. With mixed bag fishing, our fishermen (and fisher-women) get a chance to catch a lot of different fish. Not only is this good for eating, but it's fun! There's nothing like hearing that reel spinning when you've got a catch on the line - large or small.

Unfortunately, summer is coming to close, but that doesn't mean that the fishing stops with Mount Maker Charters. No matter what time of year it is, we make it our goal to put each and every charter on as many fish as possible. With our temperate climate and variety of bodies of water here in coastal North Carolina, we've got access to great fishing nearly all year round. If you live in eastern North Carolina or you're visiting one of our beautiful towns such as Beaufort, Emerald Isle, Morehead City or Atlantic Beach, come get a taste of North Carolina inshore fishing. Give us a call today to book your fishing charter!
